Welcome and thank you for exploring a career opportunity with the State Bank of Cross Plains. I am Jim Tubbs, President and CEO. For over 100 years, we have been providing high quality customer service to all of our stakeholders. We take tremendous pride in maintaining a constant level of focus on our various stakeholders including our shareholders, our customers, our communities and our employees. We are owned by over 450 shareholders who are customers, family, friends and coworkers. This ownership group knows the value of a strong and solid Community Bank. Presently, we have 9 locations spread over western Dane County, located in eight different communities. As a community bank, we focus on proper corporate citizenship and community involvement. “I started with the bank as a high school co-op student working in the Customer Service Representative area. I was also able to shadow other areas of the bank and help out at other locations that needed assistance. When I went to college, out of the area, I was able to come back to the bank on my school breaks. During my senior year of college, I worked at a local bank, which didn’t have the family feel and employee guidance I was used to from SBCP. Upon graduation, I was hoping to come back to SBCP and was in luck that there was a job opening in Loan Service. Since that time, I have worked as a Personal Banker, Commercial Document Specialist and now my current position as a Commercial Portfolio Manager. “Prior to coming to SBCP, I worked for what was originally a community bank for 20 years. During that period, the bank went from a two office organization to being part of a larger holding company with its corporate office in Appleton. Upon acquisition, we were told we would not be losing our jobs; however, within an 8 year period the positions I held were centralized, requiring me to find another position within the organization each time. Finally, after the 3rd time, I felt it was time for me to pursue a career somewhere else. Now I look back on that situation and really feel it was a “blessing in disguise.” I started my career with the State Bank of Cross Plains in the Loan Servicing department, and from there I have worked very hard and seized every opportunity to take on additional responsibilities and challenges.
