Our bank family is what makes State Bank of Cross Plains a unique place to work. The following testimonials were submitted by members of our bank family:
“I chose SBCP for the hometown atmosphere. You can walk into any location, in one of the eight communities we have a presence in, and recognize someone. SBCP offers competitive benefit packages and is committed to promoting from within. The number of employees who have been with the bank 20+ years is astonishing. The Bank believes in its ‘bank family’ and it shows in everything we do. We work hard, and we play hard. I chose SBCP for the people and the reward of helping them whether they are internal or external customers.”

“I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to work for the State Bank of Cross Plains. A number of years ago, I left SBCP, only to find that the grass is not always greener on the “other side.” I am proud to be a part of this banking family and happy to have been given the chance to grow in my banking career… I have had the ability to learn a great deal in the position for which I was hired. At the same time, additional responsibilities have been presented to me, which I have gladly taken on. The State Bank of Cross Plains has allowed me the ability to learn new areas of banking, while at the same time challenging me to become a more valuable player to our team.”

“…There was always one thing that stuck in my mind about the State Bank of Cross Plains. In my interview, the Core Values of the company was discussed in length and seemed extremely important, and the company wanted to know how exactly I would fit with their Values. Of course the profits and growth of the company were important, but it also seemed their customers’ needs and desires were just as important. Coming from a long customer service background and believing that I should “sell” a customer something that will only help them, not just boost my own sales/profits, I felt that this company was the one I should be working for…and I have never regretted my decision.”

“I started with the bank as a high school co-op student working in the Customer Service Representative area. I was also able to shadow other areas of the bank and help out at other locations that needed assistance. When I went to college, out of the area, I was able to come back to the bank on my school breaks. During my senior year of college, I worked at a local bank, which didn’t have the family feel and employee guidance I was used to from SBCP. Upon graduation, I was hoping to come back to SBCP and was in luck that there was a job opening in Loan Service. Since that time, I have worked as a Personal Banker, Commercial Document Specialist and now my current position as a Commercial Portfolio Manager. It has been great being able to have the opportunity to learn different areas of the bank. Once I knew that my interest was commercial loans, I received the outstanding guidance and support from my superiors and peers.”

“Prior to coming to SBCP, I worked for what was originally a community bank for 20 years. During that period, the bank went from a two office organization to being part of a larger holding company with its corporate office in Appleton. Upon acquisition, we were told we would not be losing our jobs; however, within an 8 year period the positions I held were centralized, requiring me to find another position within the organization each time. Finally, after the 3rd time, I felt it was time for me to pursue a career somewhere else. Now I look back on that situation and really feel it was a “blessing in disguise.” I started my career with the State Bank of Cross Plains in the Loan Servicing department, and from there I have worked very hard and seized every opportunity to take on additional responsibilities and challenges. I am still in the Loan department and enjoy every day, even the stressful ones. I enjoy the people I work with and appreciate being part of our great bank family. I have always felt this is a great organization to be a part of and that in its self is the motivation for me to do everything I can to contribute to the overall success of our organization.”
